Eating Healthy is NOT Expensive!

Hello(: I'm starting to bring my own lunch to school. Why? Because it's cheaper, healthier (since I control what goes in my lunch), and I'm getting bored of school food. There is such a limited choice of healthy food available in school. I'm still a noob in the kitchen, but I like cooking and I'm learning. And, I'm currently on a tight budget so it's perfect.

So, last night, I made chicken pasta aglio olio. It has its protein (chicken), vege (lettuce) and carbs (pasta). People tend to stay away from carbs when they are adopting a healthy lifestyle, but your body needs carbs! If it doesn't get carbs the healthy way, it will make you reach out for that sugary snack when it's low on carbs! Just don't go overboard with the carbs such that your whole plate is filled with carbs, like fried rice or fried bee hoon. Sticking to whole grain carbs like brown rice and wholemeal bread is the way to go (: Be sure to include plentiful of protein and vegetables in your meal.

In to the tupperware it goes for my lunch today(:

And the downside of cooking; cleaning up after your mess. Haha.

Oh, check out my new kittens. Gonna give them away when they're two months old because we seriously have WAY TOO MANY cats. My house is like a breeding house for cats. We currently have like three mothers who just gave birth, so in total 13 kittens! That is on top of the 10 adult kittens we have. Goodness. But, still, they're so cute when they're kittens, running around and playing. Might as well enjoy them while they're here haha.

About Me

Nadiah, 20 years old, from the sunny island of Singapore, just a regular girl hoping to share her passion for health and fitness(: This blog was started to promote healthy living to feel happy and sexy, and at the same time improve on myself to always be better than yesterday.

This is kinda embarrassing, but this was me in 2010. Admittedly, I was never fat. Neither do I have the "skinny genes" like the girls here who can simply eat all they want and still stay so skinny. I gained a massive 5kg in 2008 over a span of a few months after my intensive hockey trainings stopped, to concentrate on the O levels. I've always felt bigger and fatter compared to the girls in my school. My self esteem and confidence were an all time low. I ALWAYS felt fat. There was never a moment that I felt good about my body. I was on strict low-calorie diet, eating less than 800kcal a day. Predictably, it did not bring the result I wanted. I was always hungry and on days when my willpower were low, I binged, felt disgusted after, and purged it all out in the toilet. This went on for like a year or so, until I decided that enough was enough. I was hurting myself, starving myself, managed to lose a few kg for awhile but ended up gaining all of them back. What was the point of going through all these when I can't even keep the weight off??

So, I decided to do it the healthy way. Eating healthy, exercising regularly.

Fell in love with this amazing guy who never fail to try to convince me that I'm not fat and I look great again and again and again.

Anddd here we are now, in 2012. Okay, I know I'm not exactly that slim now, I still have more fats to lose in my tummy. I really want the kinda flat abs that celebrities usually have haha. But still, seeing the changes my body have gone through over the two years also surprised me and really motivates me to keep doing what I'm doing.

Another hobby of mine; scuba diving!

Absolutely loooveeeeeeee scuba diving. An avid diver who frequents to Tioman Island to dive(:
